What is Osteopathy about.
Osteopathy is a system of healing using manual hands on therapy.
It is a holistic treatment as all relevant areas are discussed such as posture, work, hobbies, sports, medication etc.
Pain usually arises from injury whether traumatic or insidious due to poor posture and shows that the body can no longer compensate. With treatment the body is brought back into alignment. This allows increased range of movement, fluid (lymph) drainage including inflammatory by-products and nutrition to cells. It also decreases pain and stiffness.
Our aim is to overcome dis-ease and establish good health.
Some pain is easily treated while others are chronic and may need maintenance treatment. Also some pain is referred from other areas therefore do not be surprised if the treatment is not in the exact area of the pain.
